More importantly, we have made thoughtful changes to the layout and structure to help users navigate the site more easily–especially non-English speakers seeking resources via our Language Hub. Previously, users would find their language in a list and be directed to a page with information on where to find book translations and HealthWiki pages available. The improved section of the new site makes it easier and faster to select a language, and it now provides a more comprehensive roundup of resources that includes any factsheets, flyers, booklets, and apps that may be in that language! Additionally, the new Language Hub allows site visitors to see all the ways they can view our books— whether as a PDF, in our HealthWiki, or as a purchased print copy.
Tawnia Litwin, Director of Digital Projects, led her team through the development of this new site from inception to launch. In her comments about the new Language Hub, she shared:
“We know that nearly 80,000 people a month rely on Hesperian’s translated materials to make informed health decisions or to educate others in their community. As our library of resources expands with new formats, adaptations, and translations, the new website and Language Hub will ensure that users from around the world can find the health information they need with more ease.”
We’re so excited for you all to explore the new site and share it with your communities!
